Gill Elementary School

I would like to take this opportunity to welcome everyone back to a new school year! I hope each of you had a wonderful and relaxing summer. We are gearing up for another fantastic school year and we can hardly wait for your children to walk through our doors. The first day of school is just around the corner! I know everyone is anxious to buy school supplies and find out who their teachers will be. Our teachers are rested, energized, and focused on providing an excellent educational experience for your children. The staff has been working hard over the past few weeks in preparation of our school opening.

School starts on Tuesday, September 8, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. and students will be dismissed at 12:00 noon.

CLASS LISTS WILL BE POSTED IN THE FRONT WINDOW OF THE SCHOOL AND BY THE GYMNASIUM.

New students to our school will need to report to the office and a teacher will be there to welcome you and show you around the school.

KINDERGARTEN STUDENTS

Kindergarten students will start on different dates to assist with their transition to kindergarten. A letter has been sent home to notify families of their child’s start date.

Mrs. Goode’s morning kindergarten hours are from 8:55am to 11:15am.

Ms. Baumgartner’s afternoon kindergarten begins at 12:45p.m – 2:45p.m Monday – Thursdays and at 10:45a.m – 2:45p.m on Fridays.

NEW REGISTRATIONS

Students who are new to Gill Elementary and not yet registered may do so at the school office as soon as possible. Currently, there is room for a few students in each grade however a waiting list has been started to give priority to students living within the Gill Elementary catchment area.

It’s important to note that SCHOOL REORGANIZATION MAY OCCUR ANYTIME THROUGHOUT SEPTEMBER IN RESPONSE TO CHANGES IN ENROLMENT.

BUS ROUTES - Routes will be the same as last year’s schedules and will run one hour later on the first day of school. Please contact the bus garage at 250-720-2772 if you have any questions about the bus schedules or routes.
